Hello there!

You may be thinking, “hmmm, I wonder where Riley went?”  I’m here.  I promise.  To give you an idea of where I’ve been, enjoy a summary of my past week.

I have:

Moved across country back to the one and only Texas.

Had Sonic drinks 3 days in a row.

Unpacked, done laundry, visited, and repacked while I was at home for a few days.

Sweat…a LOT.  We had 100 degree days in D.C. but not paired with this Texas humidity. Yesterday my toes felt like they were frying like Little Smokies – it is that HOT!

Bought a watermelon.  They don’t really have those up north.

Settled into my new home in San Marcos, TX.

Kissed the Texas ground – not really, but I thought about it.

Gone to the store that has it all, Walmart (3 times so far!).

I’ve been all over the place and now I’m trying to reign that all in.  I’m busy unpacking, reorganizing, and decorating my new apartment.  I registered for grad school classes, ordered my books, and have orientation tomorrow.  I also am searching, applying, and interviewing for a job for the fall.

Hold on tight, this semester hasn’t started yet and it’s already a speedy ride.  Soon enough everything will be all nestled into place and I’ll have a new routine down.  Once that happens, I’ll recap my summer moments I never finished sharing here on the blog.  I will keep you posted with the latest learning, crafting, and refinishing moments.  I’m excited for the journey that is ahead of me.  It is sure to be filled with lots of moments to relish, times to struggle, and plenty of homegrown joy.

“A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9
