Last Friday it dawned on me.  My connection to San Marcos, Texas State, and everyone around me is finally happening.  I’ve been waiting for the feeling that of belonging and homeyness.  And now, everything seems to be falling into place.

I started my Texas State paraphernalia collection.  This may be due to my connection to the Athletic Department.  In case you didn’t know, I am working for the ticket office selling and taking tickets at athletic events.  At the comment of being cold on Friday, my boss brought me a nice new pull over.  He was going to wait to give the newbies gear until he felt confident we weren’t in the job for freebies.  I guess working two times qualifies as long enough!  Looks like I am a bobcat.

I start babysitting on Wednesday for a lovely family of 4 with the 5th member on the way! They live in New Braunfels about 20 minutes away from me. There is a 3 year old boy and 18 month old girl. I’m not sure if the baby on the way is a girl or boy. I’m super excited to play and have fun with these little ones!

My friends, Desta and Lauren, from A&M came down to San Marcos this weekend.  It was a weekend full of catching up, shopping, and good food.

Saturday started out with a stop by Centerpoint Station.  The place is filled with old signs hanging from the walls, rafters, and ceiling!  There is jewelry, clothing, home decor, and LOTS of Vera Bradley.

Centerpoint isn’t only known for it’s fabulous shopping.  They have a cafe attached to the main building.  Don’t these treats look delicious?  The cinnamon roll was so yummy.

After that, we shopped and shopped at the outlets!  If purchases are a sign of bargains, I would say we found a few.

Saturday was topped off with good Mexican food for dinner, a tour of the square in downtown San Marcos, and watermelon granita back at my apartment.  While the girls were here, we talked boys, weddings, ring dunk, and even dug into my pile of old scrapbooks.  There was also the ritual reading from the Neverisms book.  It was such a fun weekend and I’m sure there are many more in our future.

This weekend was a reminder of the bonds already formed and all the new ones in the works.  God has everything under control and is providing multiple opportunities for me to have an abundance of blessings and connections.  The key is recognizing the opportunities and acting on them.  In doing so, connections are built and rooted in Christ.

Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude. {Colossians 2:6-7}

    Hey that lady took a pretty good picture of us! We had so much fun! God has blessed each of us with some wonderful girls in our life! When we are 70 years old we will still be doing the same thing (because we already act like we are 70 now!)
