Friday, Saturday, and Sunday moments of joy.
Friday – I received an email informing me that I have moved on to the interview round for a summer practicum spot at Dell Children’s Hospital. Many thanks were given to God in the parking lot as I read that email!
Saturday – I was slow to choose joy as I washed a layer of poop off of Stana Hope. She woke up shortly after I put her in bed and I figured she needed a new diaper. Much to my surprise, her back was covered in yellow goo. It was disgusting. Thankfully, big brother Eli was able to get a washcloth and baby soap as I hosed her down in the kitchen sink. My joy came from his willingness to help out despite his inquisitive stare at what was happening.
Her smile, coos, and dimple make her pretty irresistible in spite of the poo!
Sunday – Today I receive joy as I do what God has called me to do – be a student. I’m curled up in an Aggie afghan and writing away on the assignments due this week. It is so very nice to enjoy the quiet serenity of a lovely Sunday afternoon.
“To be able to find joy in another’s joy,
that is the secret of happiness.” [George Bernanos]
