Connection

While there has been no predictability on Homegrown Joy recently, the posts have been a direct reflection of my heart and head.  Lately, they seem to wander with all sorts of thoughts.  Crafting thoughts, blessings and gratitude, keeping connections and building new ones, the greatness of God and his plan, and the list goes on and on….

Please hang in here with me as I jump from whims to thoughts to revelations.  Sometime I’ll get all 12 daily dozen art retreat posts done!

Today I want to share a little bit about my strength of connectedness and desire to keep connections.  During my senior year of high school and freshman year of college, I read and took the Strength Finders 2.0 and Living Your Strengths.  Both of these books, have a test that identify a person’s top 5 strengths.  It seems quite fitting that one of my strengths is connectedness.  I seek to bring others together around some commonality.  I also recognize my value and need for connections in my own life.   The amount of time I talk, call, spend time with, or write friends and family is a reflection of this value.  While I may not have time to visit as much as I would like or as often as I once have, I try to make the time I do have with others intentional and meaningful.  As my time in Texas dwindles away, I find myself seeking these important relationships.  God has given me amazing people to remind me of His greatness and faithfulness.  He knows how to bless me more than I could ever offer in return.  Just in the past two days, Candace, Amanda, Megan, and Allison have been God’s grace and joy personified.  Their friendships remind me what I believe, who my creator is, and how dearly I am loved and cared for.  I am one grateful and happy girl.

This week’s free song on KLOVE is All Things Possible.  I’ve found myself singing the bridge all week long as a prayer and anthem.  You too can sing with me by downloading the song or  listening here.

My God is strong and mighty. My God is faithful.  My hope is in the Lord.  For He is able.
